how do I adjust the canvas size of an image?

Asked by betsy

how do I adjust the canvas size of an image to then modify or add to that image? Specifically, I have a rectangle logo. I want to extend the canvas on the right side of the logo to incorporate different colored rectangle butted right up to the original logo.

I'm looking to adjust the 'image' canvas, not the page...

Zoom out to enlarge the portion of the canvas you can see, put your object into the correct place, zoom in again to edit it.
Scroll bars will now allow to get to the outer parts of the canvas, too.
