Why can't inkscape find my printer

I just downloaded Inkscape and tried to print a test page. When I go to print it does not show my printer at all. Please help!!

Hi Angela,

I guess you are using Inkscape on Windows. There are some known (and probably also some unknown) bugs related to printing from Inkscape in Windows.

The usual workaround is to
- export the image to bitmap (png file format)
- then print from another program

If you want to help to solve the underlying problem, head over to the bug section and search for bugs which are similar to your problem, then add some more details to them or just tell people that you have the same problem and are willing to assist (means: test, add details) in solving the problem.
