show how to run the tool on the line in a drawing in inkscape

please tell me how to run the V tool bit on a straight line exactly so that I make a V groove line in the drawing i make in Inkscape.
I know that there is option for inside/ outside of the line.... but how about exactly on the line?
Is there any manual or tutorial/video regarding how to use the software inkscape/gcodetools step by step showing how to make profiles, pockets, 3 d machining and also contouring etc...?
