hi, could you please tell me how to make repeating patterns for staionary

Hi,
I'am new to Inkscape and I'am wanting to create my own background patterns, borders and designs for stationary and office documents. I have tried doing this but I'am not having much luck. Can you please help me or point me in the right direction towards any tutorials etc.

Be aware that in the current inkscape version, patterns often come with a slight gap between the tiles.

You can look forward to the next version of Inkscape, though. Only yesterday, a new extension for 0.91 was published, which you will soon be able to use: http://inkscape.org/en/gallery/item/1280/ (preview).

Hi again, I just learned that the new extension also seems to work with the 0.48.5 - so you may want to try it directly ;-)
