I saveas to a PNG, the PNG has a secondary ourline.....This only happens if I add a Stroke to letters.

Asked by Peter Arbib

When I wanted to make the letters thicker on a Logo, I added a "Stroke" of the same letter color.
When I went to save it as PNG, the letters had a secondary stroke or something.

It only happens when I add a "Stroke" to letters.

ALSO.. NO Save-As to a JPG? or GIF?

Could you upload an example of your svg file and the result you get somewhere? (Unfortunately, launchpad doesn't support attachments, but you could open an accout at inkscape.org and upload your 'problem files' there)

I have an account with Inkscape.ord, but I can't find where or how to upload a sample files, so I have a link to OneDrive so you can view the file and download the files.

You should be able to download both files... the SVG and PNG that was "Saved As" from the file.

Peter, if I open your svg with my inkscape, it seems broken (font sizes are different and especially the big letters E-P1 are missing completely). I honestly don't know what is causing this, maybe we have different font files for Arial. If you want a text to look the same on all systems, you need to convert it into paths first.

Here is a trick which MIGHT give you the expected result, though:

Could you convert all those flow texts to paths (keep a copy of the original, maybe in a hidden layer, to be able to modify that again if it doesn't help!) and then try again to export this to a png?

Also, it might help to export to a BIG sized png and to downscale that one later using gimp or whichever software you like (in case it is an antialiasing issue).

Yes, That worked...

Changed the Text to Path
added the same text color stroke (2.00)
Exported to a 10x sized PNG

as far as the Anti-Aliasing goes for reducing the graphic for use
... being into Photo editing, not Graphic Art editing.. I have to figure that out

Thanks
Peter
