snap isn't snapping

snap feature isn't working. All snap settings are set to Snap when closer than apx 15. I need to snap to grid and to guides.

Hi Andrea,

which inkscape version do you use? Which system are you on? Did it ever work for you or are you trying this the first time?

For me, if snapping doesn't work right away, I can overcome this by zooming in to a very high zoom level and then it works.

I'm using 0.48.

It used to work all the time. I didn't make any intentional setting changes.

Reset your preferences first, and then report back if that solved your problem:

On OS X or Linux:
$ rm ~/.config/inkscape/preferences.xml

On Windows, put this in a run box:
cmd /c del "%appdata%\inkscape\preferences.xml"
