Possibility of exporting the selection in svg

Hi all,
would it be possible to add the funcionality of saving only a selected graphic objects in the canvas? There is such a possibility in png bitmap export, but not for other graphic formats...
Exporting this way in svg would be extremely useful, I think.
But since maybe you have no time to do that, totally sufficient for me would be such a feature:
If I copy a selected object into clipboard, also a svg code of the object would appear as a text in (the text part of) the clipboard, too (something like <svg ...><blah></svg>. Then one would easily copy-paste the code into text editor and save it as .svg or as inline-svg tag into html web page source.
