I WISH TO CREATE A TRIANGLE AND WORK OTHER SHAPES WITHIN IT

i WISH TO DRAW THE FOLLOWING THE BASIC SHAPE IS A RECTANGLE WITH A TRIANGULAR SHAPE ABOVE, THE FRONT OF A BIRD HOUSE I WISH THEN TO DRAW SHAPES WITHIN BOTH THE TRIANGULAR TOP AND RECTANGULAR BOTTOM, BEFORE FILLING WITH COLOUR.

YOU JUST HAVE TO PRESS CAPS LOCK TO MAKE SURE YOU DONT WRITE IN ALL CAPS SO THAT WE ARE NOT UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU ARE SHOUTING AT US [ http://netiquette.wikia.com/wiki/Rule_number_2_-_Do_not_use_all_caps ], then start inkscape.

click on the rectangle tool, draw your rectangle. click on the pen tool, click on the three points of your triangle. Then keep any tool you need, draw the shapes you want. select the triangle and the rectangle, left click on a colour in the palette, it should fill with this color. You're done !
