how to add an image inside an object

Asked by Dave Edwards

I have created an oval shape (using F4). I now want to fill the shape with an image, jpg or gif, stored on my local hard drive. How do I do this? I cant find any tool that will allow me to browse my PC for the image I want, only the default fill patterns.

Thanks

Dave Edwards

Hit Ctrl+I, or go to File->Import to import a new image. Find what you want and open it. Options for the image will be given; the defaults are fine.

Move the image over the oval, and keep pressing PgDn until the image is underneath the oval.

To crop the image to show only inside the oval, select the oval, hit Alt+D to make a clone, then hold down shift and select the image. Right click the image and select "Set Clip".
