learn how to make image high resolution

Asked by SHANNON PARK

Hello I am trying to make a .jpeg file which is my company logo into high resolution. If you could give me some direction I would appreciate it. We are trying to put onto a flyer and is too pixel's are showing up. I imported the image to Inkscape but don't know how to fix it. I read on the internet something about the DPI being at 600 and saving the image as a .svg extension but cant figure it out.

Thanks,
Shannon Park

Have you been told (by a professional printer) that you need a vector image, to produce the flyer?

Inkscape cannot edit or change the dpi of a raster image (such as JPG), because Inkscape is a vector graphics editor. Difference between raster (sometimes called "bitmap") and vector: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vector_graphics.

You'll need to use a raster graphics editor, such as The GIMP, to fix the resolution of the JPG.

If you need to put other graphics or text into the flyer, besides the JPG, you could draw/type those with Inkscape. Then import the high res JPG, and end up with a vector file for the printer.

If you don't need any vector content, you don't need Inkscape at all.

Can you help with this problem?
