When I save my picture created in Inkscape as a .png, it loses the texture of the picture that I added

Asked by Samantha Bryant

I am losing the texture that I added to a picture I created in Inkscape when I save it to my computer as a .png document. My picture must be saved in that format, so I am wondering how to create a texture that will stay?

Use 'File > Export bitmap' to create a PNG file, instead of saving a copy as 'Cairo PNG'. The file format 'Cairo PNG' only supports a smaller set of features of Inkscape drawings (e.g. it is known to have issues with pattern fills).
