File saved does not contain map drawn

I have drawn a basic map diagram and "saved" the map as drawn. However, the file saved contains a page from the Inkscape Tutorial, not my map. Therefore all subsequent instructions e.g. a print prints the Tutorial page, not my map.
All Help much appreciated.

Hhmm....well that's a new one, lol.

Did you draw the map in the margin of one of the tutorial files? You need to make the drawing on a new blank page (File menu > New). If you did open a new blank page and you drew you map there, then somehow, you didn't save that, and you saved the tutorial instead. Be sure your drawing is the only thing on the page, and be sure to save that page.

Nice one. You've got me on the right track. I don't know how I've done that but my map is indeed on a tutorial page - I think it's got something to do with me using the magnify buttons as my map is a tiny image followed by a massive load of tutorial. I'll get going now and much appreciate your help.
