How to convert a straight line into a circle?

Asked by Meenakshi Sundaram

I want to convert a straight line into a circle. For example the length of the line should become the circumference of the circle. How to achieve this using Inkscape?

I don't think that's possible with Inkscape (although there's still plenty of things I have yet to learn about Inkscape). If there is a way to do it, I'll certainly be interested to know how :-)

I guess you could do some math though, and figure out what the dimensions of a circle with a certain circumference would be. Then you could simply use the Ellipse tool to make a circle, and set it to the proper dimensions.
