Asked by Teresa Anderson

Is it possible to expand/condense (make thinner) or stretch/expand (make fatter) typed letters? If so ... how??

1 - Select the text with the Selection tool (at the top of the toolbar).
2 - Grab one of those arrows and drag, to adjust the text as you like.
3 - When it's just right, just release the mouse button.

Hhmm, looks like messages can't be edited here. I tried clicking Edit Question button, but it allows ME (not the person who posted the message) to edit the op!

I might have misunderstood your question. Did you mean you want the individual letters to be fatter or thinner? If that's the case, and simply using the Bold button on the Text control bar isn't enough, you could try this:

1 - Select the text
2 - Path menu > Object to Path (note that this is not reversible, except via Undo)
3 - Path menu > Inset or Outset

Can you help with this problem?
