I cannot change the font.

I am trying to change the font for a logo. The font is stuck on BitStream Vera Sans. I try to click on a new font, but it does nothing. There is also a little triangle with an exclamation mark in it next to the name of the font. The font should change to whatever I choose because I have these fonts on my computer. they work on GIMP and Libre Office.

Please try there steps to fix your problem:

1) open 'Text > Text and Font…'
2) select 'Sans' in the list of font names
3) click 'Set as default' in the bottom-left corner of the dialog, close dialog

Afterwards, installed fonts should work again as expected.
