imported basic svg misses all circles

Asked by RabidDarren

Hi, I tried to import a very basic svg file with a few music notes. However inkscape doesn't show the note heads (=filled in circles under each note). GIMP as well as web browsers show the note heads without a problem. You can download/view the very small files here:

source file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/110370249/music.svg
expected result: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/110370249/music-expected.png
screenshot inkscape: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/110370249/music-screenshot-inkscape.png

Does anyone know what I can do?

Thanks!

Your file use a musical font that inkscape doesn't handle right
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/239631

So, to be displayed well, your file will require other users to download the font.
The sibelius site is down now so I'm not sure you can download it legally.
Even if it's possible it looks like it's embedded with the executable.
Maybe it will work for Windows/MacOS but it's a no go for Linux, Ios, Android...

Hi v1nce, thanks for helping. I checked out the link you posted which lead to another post that solved it:

Apparently there is a development version that fixes that issue. If anyone else experiences that problem, check out https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=09706d11303fa52a&id=9706D11303FA52A%21217 and download inkscape_r12677-201310121045.7z ("latest" build R12677 for windows, date 12 Oct 2013, for hardly more info see http://www.oss-marketplace.com/index.php/downloads-mainmenu-63/func-showdown/101/ ).

Thanks again and all the best!
