Inkscape

Can't edit anything

I was working on a drawing, and I edited some text. Then I tried to click on something else, and nothing will register. I can select tools and options from the menu, but I can't select any objects or use the tools at all. Clicking does nothing. Weird thing is, it only happens with this particular file, I open up old Inkscape files with previous work, and I can edit them just fine. It's just this one. I've restarted the program, restarted my computer, and uninstalled and reinstalled. I saw that other people have had similar problems and it had to do with their tablet, which I do have, but I haven't used it in months, and the just switching to my mouse doesn't help. Plus if that were the issue, I figured it would effect all Inkscape files, not just the one I was working on.

Hi,

Long shot here but it happened to me : are you sure you haven't locked the layer or transfered your shapes to a locked layer or hit a keyboard shortcut to lock the current layer ? Look at the lock symbol in the status bar down the window.

It was that simple. My friend suggested that too, and I checked, and yep. I feel pretty dumb lol. I don't use the layers panel much at all with Inkscape, so I didn't think to check it. Whoops. Thanks!
