Unlike PDF _viewers_ (like Evince), an SVG editor like Inkscape does not make use of fonts subset & embedded in the PDF file.

Replacing fonts embedded in a PDF file with matching fonts available on the current system is based on the font names stored in the PDF file. There are limitations for this font matching due to how fonts are subset and embedded in PDF files.

If the PDF file has fonts embedded with custom or mangled font names, there is no way that Inkscape could substitute a matching font from the ones available on the current system.

What kind of font information is provided about the fonts embedded in the PDF file depends on the creator software used of the PDF, and on the font type of the original source (some types of fonts will never use their original font names when embedded in PDF files).

Can you help with this problem?
