Creating a PDF from a SVG file - some parts of the image (writing) don't show on the PDF file

Asked by Pete Hall

I am creating name badges with a variety of backgrounds to them for different people, I am creating them as a SVG file and then saving them as a PDF file to take to the printers.

Some components for the image I have created don't show up on the PDF file - usually the text. I have tried selecting all and grouping and then saving but no real difference when I do this.

Any ideas?

Hello Pete,

I have had similar issues with attaching an SVG image onto a Text Document on Libre Office. The Text turned out to be one huge black box.

Are you sure you saved the PDF using Inkscape itself? that could be the main issue here.

I have saved it using Inkscape and tried to print it with CutePDF writer with the same result, very frustrating!!

Hi,

It may be a font problem, so maybe you should select your text and convert it to paths first (with Path > Object to Path).

Try to report a bug. Looks like PDF convertor error.
