Inkscape

I can't find geometric bounding box

I'm using version .48 and am very pleased. I've been using your super tutorial but I am stuck on A Vine Design (TilePattern) Step 2. In Inscape preferences > tools > I can not find the geometric bounding box. I also notice that the tutorial shows an Icon with sliding controls for Inkscape Preferences but my version has an icon with a screwdriver and a crescent wrench forming an X .

Open 'File > Inkscape Preferences', click on the top-most entry in the list on the left (label: "Tools"), and then switch from the (default) visual to the geometric bounding box using the setting 'Bounding box to use' in the panel on the right side of the preferences dialog.
