Inkscape freezes when trying to export Bitmap

I use a Macbook Pro 10.6.8 and question 148502 looks like my issue but when reading it-I didn't see a solution. I'm wondering why when exporting Bitmaps, sometimes it goes fast, and sometimes it's painfully slow?

Hi,

As long as it's not a freeze but just "painfully slow", it's not really a bug. Your drawing may be very CPU-intensive, like with a lot of effects, blurs... The main factor i the rendering time is the final size of your PNG image, i.e. the width/height (and hence, resolution) of your image : the more pixels there is to compute, the longer it will take.
Exemple : the same drawing (let's say : 10cm x 10cm)
- at 75 dpi : is about 87 000 pixels to compute and render
- at 300 dpi : is about 1 400 000 pixels to compute, i.e. 16 times more
