cutting top of letter in fhmc one of objects not on path?

I am try to learn your program. In the tutorial FHMC when try to trim the letters I keep getting the problem of one of the objects not on the path and it will not trim. What an I doing wrong?

Hi,

Maybe you should select all your letters and use Path > Union to make all the letters just 1 path. This way, the trimming affects 1 object wich is made of all your letters.
