Inkscape no longer shows the control points when editing a node, how do I reenable them?

Asked by Christian Corrodi

Using the node editing tool the control points are no longer visible. How can I get them back? I'm still able to edit lines by dragging but it's a pain.

I'm using Inkscape 0.48 on Ubuntu 13.04 with XFCE

I got it working again using 'rm -r ~/.config/inkscape/'. I'm still interested in a nicer option to resolve it in case it happens again.

At the far right end of the node tool controls bar there's toggle to turn on/off the display of handles.

It can also be toggled on/off with the keyboard shortcut 'Ctrl+H' (only if the node tool is active):

It's only the second most far right tool for me, but thanks a lot. I might have accidentally clicked that.
