After I trace a photo copy & paste it to my canvas...

In Inkscape, after I trace my photo & copy & paste the outline to my "canvas" If I "lock" the properties of this content so that the content doesn't shift, I can no longer highlight THAT item in order to move it again. As a matter of fact, when I right click the content to unlock the pasted content, the properties menu no longer comes for the content up as long as it remains locked. How do I unlock it again?

Menu 'Object > Unlock all' unlocks all locked objects on the current layer.
