perspective text mot working

I have followed the you tube tutorials but when I go to extensions, modify path, and click on perspective the text just disappears?

Hi,

Maybe it has to do with the order in which you select the shapes. Begin with the text and then the shape of the enveloppe.

BTW, not a real answer, but you could use (instead of the extension) a live path effect with a lot more control and ease I think. Once you have your text, convert it to path (Path > Object to Path) and then go to Path > Live Path Effects. In the docked window that appears, click the "+" to add an effect and choose "Enveloppe". You can then modify each border of the bounding box around your text.
