Hi

To the best of my knowledge such a true list of ob jects does not exist. But maybe the XML-editor might help you. It gives you the content of your svg-file with all tags visualised. You could also see all objects properties, etc. When you select and edit objects as you would normally do with the XML-editor window open, you see selection and modifications synchronised. Probably way to complex for you, but it might help ...
Another thing (but only present in the development version of Inkscape) that might help you with unwanted stuff, is the renewed find and replace dialog. Just play a bit with it, enlarge the options, and you might discover powerfull applications such as transforming all red objects to blue, a certain font with another one, select all rectangles, etc.

Hope this helps ...

'View > Display mode > Outline view' can help with detecting and
selecting "invisible" objects which are otherwise not easily discovered
due to fill and stroke properties matching the background of the canvas…

Can you help with this problem?
