Hi,

Obviously using the "del" or "backspace" keys ... But maybe you're working on an imported pdf ? In this case, deleting a letter doesnt delete the word. You then have no choice but to delete each letter, as a line of text is imported in Inkscape as a series of letters and not as a usual text.
