How do I print a drawing over multiple pages. I want to draw Dress or Clothing Pattern. Saving/Printing in CutePDF.

Asked by Alison Townsend

I want to use Inkscape to design Dress patterns. That is pattern pieces that you use to cut out and sew clothing.
These are bigger than one single piece of paper. One piece could cover 12 or more sheets of A4
If I had to I could do a one file per piece on A0. But this would be a pain. As I would need multiple files for each garment.
I would like to design all the pattern pieces and print the file over multiple pages of A4. Using registration marks at the corners to put it together. A 'button' or tool to insert registration marks would be required. As well I would like to save to CutePDF so that I can print it out at the local office supply shop by saving to CutePDF. I can choose to print actual size on A4 (lots of sticking pages together). A3 (bit better) or the most expensive but
convenient option printing actual size over only three sheets of AO

Hi,

To create a montage of multiple A4 prints to reproduce your big document to size, that can be done using Rasterbator (www.http://rasterbator.net/, online) or the free software Posterazor (http://posterazor.sourceforge.net/, available for Win, MacOs & Linux).
