There is a function that draws freehand lines (F6), is that what you are asking about?

What features exactly do you need (I'm not familiar with Xara functions)

Yes, the xara freehand function is similar to freehand lines (F6), but he generate a path with less nodes (Well, I can use Simplify path but is a waste of time) :).

Thanks

Ps: sorry for my english :(

Pencil tool has been slightly improved in the latest development builds (it creates smother curves with less nodes) bug 188849, bug 188381

there is a tolerance option in the Inkscape preferences > Tools > Pencil but Im not sure if its working yet

Please close the question if it's answered
