Freeze on startup Win64

Asked by Tim Poate

Hey,

Apologies if this is the wrong thread.

I have installed the latest version. When i open all is fine, however as soon as i select anything e.g. rectangular tool it will freeze, i.e. cannot select any other buttons/drop down lists/close the program etc. I have un-installed and re-installed, removed preferences files.
I have downloaded to my laptop and it appears to work fine (wind 32), but failing on my desktop (win64).

If anyone has any suggestions as to why it crashes please share? Also any guides as to how i can provide more info to help diagnose?

Cheers
Tim

Looks like your bug may happen on Linux as well. At least the descriptions are really similar with #785701

Yes i did see that post, however those comments suggest it works intermittently and often continues after a couple of minutes whereas mine will crash immediately an option is selected and that's it.

Cheers

Please take a look on how to debug when Inkscape crashes. If you can make a backtrace, then open a new bug, hopefully someone can tell you what happens or how to fix it.
