Need to convert a color svg to a monochrome/black and white

Asked by Sunil

Hello,

I had created images for a 2-sided business card. The printer required, in addition to the two color images, copies of the images in black and white. The parts in black were so the printer would know where to apply the finish for a UV coating.

I am new to using Inkscape, only recently starting to use illustration/design programs. I have been trying to learn what I can through the tutorials, although I do not remember finding mention of converting color pictures to monochrome. I tried to convert the image to greyscale, but I am not sure how to go about adjusting the contrast so it would appear as monochrome. The picture itself is a red and silver logo design, on a black background.

Any directions or advice provided would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Sunil

If these are paths just select all and set the color to black. If it is an bitmap image, then Inkscape is not the tool for the task. Use GIMP instead.

Can you help with this problem?
