I lost a very important document

Asked by alan soto zúñiga

Please, I need to know if there is any chance to recover a file that was closed without saving? Can it be recorded by some chance on the hard drive?

Hello,

When Inkscape crashes, it saves an emergency file before closing, but If the document was closed and not saved purposely, no. In doubt, check the paths given in http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Emergency_save.

I suggest that you activate the autosave option in the preferences (Shift+Ctrl+P). Quoting Tav's manual (http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/File-Open.html):
"Inkscape will autosave backups if desired. The feature can be toggled on in the Autosave section of the Inkscape Preferences dialog. The interval between saves, the maximum of saves to keep, and the directory where the saves are placed can also be set here. "

Can you help with this problem?
