How can I configure text similar to Word Art in MS Office? I want curves, circles, slants etc.

Inkscape doesn't have that styles. Best tool than Inkscape have for typography is Calligraphy tool (Ctrl + F6).

If you want to change shape of typo, Ctrl + Shift + F2, than use "Edit paths by nodes" (F2). With that you can edit shape of typo.

You can make gradients of typo by Fill and Stroke tool (Ctrl + Shift + F).

Etc.

That's what you can do in Inkscape, here isn't that typo styles.
