inkscape: fill behind text

hi, i can't work out how to fill behind text on inkscape (i.e. so that text is backed by white instead of clear)

any pointers?

I guess what you're trying to do is to have a white background on PNG export.
The easiest way to do so is to create a rectangle, filled with white, with no border, and send it to the background.

A few tips :
- you can manually edit the width and height of yout rectangle to fit your image size
- you can change the background color of your "transparent" canvas to see your white rectangle (in the document properties)
- the hotkey to send to the background is the "end" key by default.
