Is het mogelijk om InkScape uit te breiden met een "Spirograph"?

I use Inkscape for designing graphic patterns used in (for instance) certificates, and money. I'm lookng for an option to create "spirograph"-like patterns. Does this option exists, and have I missed it, or is it something worth to develop.
