Inkscape

Convertins SVG to either JPG, GIF, PNG or TIFF

I was able to creat the logo I want in Inkscape and it looks great. But when I went to upload it to Facebook they don't take SVG . I tried a bitmap but that didn't work either. I was able to upload my original logo but it is in the middle of a large page of white and it shows up very small surrounded by white in my FB profile box.

Use File > Export Bitmap and select the "hide all except selected" option. If you still get a white background then you've set your page to have a white background or you've included a white element in your design or the file has been converted (eg to JPEG).
