Amend the center point of object

Asked by Laura Martin

Can anyone tell me how to amend the center of the object so that when I display it, it uses the center point as its point of origin for rotating? I am saving as a wmf. Thanks.

To move the centre of rotation you simply click an object twice with the select tool and move the little + symbol by drag-dropping it.

I suspect you mean to allow the shape to rotate differently outside of Inkscape though? You'll probably have to arrange the centre of the exported image to lie at the point you want it to rotate around, eg by adding an invisible square centred on that point, it depends on how you're rotating it in which application and why.

Hi, yes you suspect right. Its to work in the Apic-Space GIS. I'll give your suggestion a try, thanks very much.
