Is it possible to seach (Ctrl-F) and objects path (d=) ?

Asked by Keith G. Kitchens

Attempting to search for one of two objects with exact same style syntax. The only difference is the relative size. The objects are overlapping circles.

The 'Edit > FInd…' dialog in current stable Inkscape 0.48.3.1 does not allow to search the values of arbitrary attributes (including a path's 'd' attribute):
Bug #456180 “find dialog doesn't allow to search for attribute values”
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/456180>

In current trunk, the 'Edit > Find…' dialog has been enhanced and now can search the values of any attribute, too:
Bug #909328 “Find / Replace dialog”
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/909328>

This new feature will be available in the next major release 0.49, and allow to search by (partial) strings from the 'd' attribute.

Notes:
- 'Edit > Find' does not provide regex support
- Inkscape has no feature to select by size (of the bounding box), or by the width or height of an object's bounding box only (e.g. for drawings with lots of similar paths).
