Saving PDF file size

is there a way to reduce the file size when saving as PDF? Currently it is 17MB, I want to email and keep it less than 5MB. is there a way to reduce the quality to do this?

I have my own way to do this however it can go bad in your case. Anyway you can this if you use linux:

You could use CutePDF virtual printer. Open your PDF and print it to PDF, choose appropriate image resolution from Advanced settings.

You can use PDFCreator as well under Windows
