circle is no circle

Asked by Mabel

Hello Sir, Madam,

Can you help me with the following question:
I am trying to make a circle in a new document
Nothing else there, its the first thing i do.
But wen i use the circle shape tool i get a weird form which doesnt look like a circle at all. I looked if i could find if there were settings that i needed to adjust but i couldnt find anything that might cause the circle not being a circle.

I am a beginner and i have no clue whats going on here.

Thanking you for your time and reply in advance

Greetz

it seems to have something to do with the stuff i did yesterday. i was just playing so i have no clue wat i did exactly. it seems to me now it has to do with settings from another document that it kept.
Can someone tell me how to undo this. Like clear everything ?
The odd thing is i started with a clean new document but it still seems to remember that? I hope it doesnt remember more stuff i am not aware about. This makes it very hard to start learning the program , lol. Already in the first tutorial, the first step of step one, i get stuck with this, lmao. (trying to do the cup and saucer tutorial)

You probably changed the properties of the ellipse. When you click on the circle/ellipse tool you should see a toolbar with a "Make the shape a whole ellipse, not arc or segment" button. Click the button. An other way is to Shift+click on the circular handle on the shape. To have a perfect circle press Ctrl while drawing the shape.
