Inkscape

Line color cannot change, always stays grey

I am trying to draw straight lines in black. It draws in grey and I cannot find a way to make them black

Are you sure these aren't transparent? See Fill and stroke dialog: Ctrl + Shift + F

That said, in many cases it is easier to just draw it yourself.
