which image is the path image?

After I convert my .bmp to a svi, which image do I get rid of? The top image or the bottom image...

In the notification area of the status bar, you can read information about the object type of the current selection: select each of the two objects, and delete the one which says 'Image XXX x YYY: …' (the other one is either a path, or a group (containing many paths) - depending on the options used to trace the bitmap image.

Since 'Trace Bitmap…' always inserts the vectorized result (a path or a group containing multiple paths) on top of the bitmap image, you can safely assume that the bottom one is the bitmap image, which can be deleted once you are satisfied with the traced result.
