equally spaced straight lines?

Asked by jack nudel

How can I draw Equally spaced straight lines at a specified distance apart?

I'd like to draw equally spaced lines across a circle, dividing it into x number of sections vertically.

If the lines already exist, use tools like 'Object > Rows and Columns' and 'Objects > Align and Distribute'
<http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Align.html#Align-Grid>
<http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Align.html#Align-Distribute>

If one the first and last line exist, you could use 'Extensions > Generate from Path > Interpolate':
<http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Extensions-GenerateFromPath.html#Extensions-Interpolate>

or combine the two lines into a single path, and use the path effect 'Interpolate sub-paths':
<http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Paths-LivePathEffects-InterpolateSubPaths.html>

You could also work with tiled clones (though they currently don't properly shift objects which have only one dimension - a horizontal or vertical line as base tile won't work (bug #553912)).

If you actually want to create a hatched fill for the circle, consider creating a custom pattern fill as described here:
<http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Attributes-Fill-Stroke.html#Hatchings>

or consider installing the custom extension offered by the Egg-Bot team:

Can you help with this problem?
