Creating vector cutouts in color

Asked by Nancy Wininger

I just received a large job from a photographer to cut out furniture from a background and place it on a white background for a new website. I use Photoshop CS4 to do this but I think there must be an easier quicker method. My images are still pixelated and not clean. I just installed inkscape hoping this would help with my problem. Can you help me with the problem?

Thanks so much,
Nancy

I would suggest using GIMP instead of Inkscape.

Oh, and for better results I suggest using a build from http://partha.com/ called "RGGJAN Fork". It has an improved version of the foreground selection tool. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkQ1r5g49d4 for a video guide.
