How do I create a star with n points?

Switch to the Star/Polygon tool (click on its icon in the toolbox on the left), adjust the parameters on the controls bar right above the canvas as needed, and then draw the star on-canvas (press the left mouse button at the center of the star to be drawn, then drag with the mouse while keeping the left mouse button pressed and release it at the position of one of the outer vertices).
