Blur function

I created a Layer with image that has a blur attached to it. However, in Inkscape it looks correct. But, when saved as a PDF and viewed the blur has been removed. I can't figure out why. Please help. Also any item that has a dropped shadow applied does the same thing when converted to a PDF. Looks great in Inkscape but, when saved as a PDF the droped shadow is lost.... bummer!!!! What am I doing wrong?

Do you have "Rasterize filter effects" selected in PDF export dialog?

I am sorry but, I am new to Inkscape I can't seem to find where to set "Rasterize filter effects" selected in PDF export dialog. Could please tell where to do this? Thanks for taking your time to respond to me.

Here is a screenshot of the 'PDF Export options' dialog (the dialog opens after you entered the file name and clicked on 'Save' in the 'File > Save a Copy as…' dialog):

The option 'Rasterize Filter Effects' is on the fourth line in that dialog (and defaults to be active).

I did as you suggested and yes this solved both the blur and drop shadow glich. Thank you very very much.

I have an image and when I look it doesn't show what I am trying to remove which looks like a shadow of a key or something how do I remove it?
