my Ctrl+ buttons stop working after awhile...
did u run into same problem?

Do you use Inkscape on Windows? This has been reported by other users, too and is tracked in
 Bug #624079 “[Windows 7] keyboard shortcuts stop functioning after a while.”

The cause for this problem is unknown.

If you use Inkscape on Windows, do you happen to have any Comodo security products installed?
There have been other user reports about Comodo products causing keyboard shortcuts in Inkscape to fail:
