Printing: I made a drawing on scale (mm) and want to print it on the correct size

Asked by Ermin de Winkel

I'd like to make paper models to scale. (model railroading) For this purpose I made a drawing of a building on the correct dimensions, actually a layout to make a 3d model. total dimensions are 230mm × 180mm.
If i use the print command I just receive a blank piece of paper from the printer.
When I export to PDF the whole drawing is resized to fit the drawing to 1 sheet of A4, leaving the scale in shambles.

In the end: what I want is when I make a square of 100mm × 100mm in Inkscape, I want as a result a piece of paper with a square of 100mm × 100mm. How do I do this?

When I changed paper size to 100×100mm from document properties and then saved as a PDF, I got exactly that size PDF. Are you sure you changed the default units to mm (from document properties)?

Hi
I just tried this as well and its all good
Just make sure you have your document settings set to A4 (if that is what your printer is using) and that the scale is in mm

Can you help with this problem?
