have imported a qr-code (.png) and want to skew/sculpt it

imported a qr-code from a .png file and want to sculpt / Skew it.
Have watched a vid and can do this on objects/text created in inkscape OK - do I need to convert the graphic first or what? How?

Sculpt/skew only affects path objects, not raster images. For raster images use GIMP or something.
