How can I copy and paste a gif image from the internet to my inkscape program?

Asked by Janice Weaver

Recently my hard drive failed and I purchased another to replace it. However, at the same time both my Illustrator and Photoshop programs no longer worked and I lost the business logo that I had created for my website and other collateral. I have not yet launched my website and tried to copy and paste my logo from there to Inkscape, which I uploaded just yesterday. What am I doing wrong and how can I copy and paste the logo from my website which is still a work in progress. I like my logo and don't want to have to recreate it. I am not a graphics guru and could certainly use your help.

Thanks,

Janice Weaver

This isn't really a forum for general help with graphics issues but a place to ask questions specific to Inkscape. It sounds like you need to enlist a graphic designer.

Copy and paste in Inkscape is the same as anywhere else - select the logo, Ctrl+C to copy it, focus your cursor by clicking in the Inkscape window, Ctrl+V to paste. However Inkscape is a vector graphics editor and so this will not give you good results if you're copying someone's logo from the WWW.

Can you help with this problem?
